Hi,

One thing has been bothering me for a while with TVRename, so I though I'd ask here. I often have several subtitle files with different languages (usually my native Finnish and English as a backup) for my TV shows. Now the common way to handle this is to append a language code to the file name and most video players can detect the language from that (eg. Showname.SxxExx.Episodename.mp4 -> Showname.SxxExx.Episodename.en.srt). This is also the default naming convention that XMBC Subtitle Downloader is using. TVRename always tries to remove the language code from the subtitle files and if there's multiple subtitles for a single episode it results in errors ("Cannot create a file when that file already exists"). Is there a way to configure TVRename to allow the language codes in subtitles and if not, could it be considered to be added as a feature?

Thanks!
Teemu

This would be really nice!

Currently I have to have the subtitles stored in seperate folders.

+1

Same here - I have filename.en.srt and filename.sv.srt for Swedish.

Perhaps something to ignore whatever is between the second last dot and the last dot?

Rename.This.notthis.srt

Would be great. Plex and others just show "Unknown" as subtitle language if you don't have the language code. Also, you can't have two languages. I myself prefer english, but the rest of my family prefers swedish so I usually have both languages in there.

Any news about this feature?
I'd like to see it too..

Using Plex and other media server, I really need to mantain the .EN, or .IT or .FR code in subtitles, and actually I can't ..
