Quick scan aborts and exits application ...

I quick scan a TV show ("Allt för Sverige" - 253460).

During the "Search web" part, it's just hard crashing, closing the application. The last I saw it work with was Season 8 episode 3.

The logs I find are in the user directory (\AppData\Roaming\TVRename\log\) :

The repetition of the findings looks strange. The FATAL one reads "The object reference is not defined as an instance of an object".

Thanks for sharing the log - helps to rule out some things.

Does it happen on every scan? Even if you just scan one show? or scan one movie?

If you click 'Revert View' before the scan - does that help?

If you delete Layout.xml from the settings and retry - does that help?

The above is a one show scan. That was the task at had so I haven't tested the program beyond this. Will try the other cases.

Valdation shows:

It happens on every scan for one show. As said in the other thread, it looks as if if concludes the scan and upon returning, it crashes.

Scanning all my shows is ongoing. It has been ongoing for an hour now, and search local progress looks to be around 50%. I have 194 folders in the TV show collection. The data is on a QNAP NAS connected over a Gb LAN. Was anything added here as I cannot remember it taking anywhere near this long before?

I will revert to the questions as soon as I can, but it's not up to my availability, but how long the scan takes...

When I do the general scan and ignore a file forever, it's not forgotten. It appears again on the next scan. Sure enough, the scan ends with a crash, but don't you store the result of my selection when I make it?

Back from TV show scan. It seems the progress bar wasn't really proportional on the local scan. It took just over an hour, but from 50% it jumped to concluded with no interim steps.

Quick scan single movie - yes, it happens then to! I deleted the log file, scanned on movie and the result is in the attached file.

Please advice where "revert view" is and I'll be happy to test it.

===> Deleting Layout.xml DID make a difference. Scan worked (single item - haven't tried the complete one yet).

A file compare between then shows the logical delta in size, location, and column width. It is also differencies in the splitter (value is different and the crashing one has HTML collapse as true - working one has false). And then there are around 20 differences in the magical State blob.

But deleting the layout.xml solved my problem so it could be interesting to see if the others with the same issue could be saved by this as well...
