Hello All

I been getting this error for last 2 years or so.

Unexpected end of file has occurred. The following elements are not closed: Overview, episode, data. Line 1824105, position 15.

The line and position can vary...

I was trying to be patient and was waiting for a new version that finally might fix it... but still nothing.

When it happens, i pick an oder version of local cache and evently I might find one that works, then I add new shows, rename a few, and next time I open TV rename is rinse and repeat. 

I just upgraded from 3.3.1 to 4.4.1, and same thing again.

Is there anything in the logs?

Could be because you care closing TV Rename half way through saving? or running out of disk space?

Where do I check the logs?

As far as closing before its done saving, I don't believe so. I click save, then program becomes "busy" and once program is responsive again then I close it. If saving could be causing it, maybe there should be some type of dialog box that says "saving"

Disk space shouldn't be an issue I have 2TB nvme.

I'm having this issue too. I will re-install, do a batch add. Save. And then minimize the program so it runs in the background. Upon reboot, the Recover window opens and I cannot proceed past this point.

Try deleting  C:\Users\Plex\AppData\Roaming\TVRename\TVRename\2.1\TheTVDB.xml and trying again ( it will redownload it)

I just updated to 4.5.3 still the same issue.. :(

Something is going wrong saving the file. Have you looked in the logs?

If the issue is always with TheTVBD.xml then you can just delete that file and TV Rename will redownload the information on the next scan

Delete  C:\Users\NeKroSoft13\AppData\Roaming\TVRename\TVRename\2.1\TheTVDB.xml

Then when app opens do a 'Force Refresh All' from the Tools menu and wait patiently

If they work OK for a while then keep coming back then there is something that is killing off TV Rename while it is half way through saving the file.

AppData\Roaming\TVRename\TVRename\2.1\TheTVDB.xml

can always be safely removed - TV Rename will re-download what it needs from the source when it opens up again.

4.7 the error still occurs.

I just found out that there is 4.8 beta.

4.8 beta for first time in 3 years doesn't have that error... hopefully it stays that way

Fingers crossed. Generally this error is because TV Rename was force closed before it had chance to save all its data though
