Alpha 33 problems

Slowly but surely (Don't call me Shirley) I'm adding back my wife's files that I lost in my early Alpha mishap.  Today I was working on Boardwalk Empire.  Strange things happened when I placed Season 1 in the Search folder.  The Full Scan kicked in as it should and I see that the files are being moved as they should.  Then I notice that episode S01E01 gets listed again and it is listed as both a Copy and a Move.  This continues on indefinitely until I finally hit the Cancel around S01E06 and start trying to figure it out.

It looks like the Title name for S01E01 is "Boardwalk Empire" which, of course, is the name of the Series.  In looking for an answer as to why Full Scan went berzerk on this, I see I have set in TV Rename Preferences and in the Boardwalk Empire Advanced settings (and in every other Series' Advanced setting as well) the setting for "When finding missing episodes (only)" I have checkmarked the setting "Look for episode title in filenames".  Could this be the cause for the problem?  I didn't take that setting to mean that and I've never seen this happen before.  I haven't changed the setting yet but I'm thinking about it and what effects it would have for other than this situation.  The log of the incident are as follows =

Another problem, as I was rooting around in the log file I discovered that my setting in Preferences for the tab Episode Export in which I had set Schedule TXT to write to the file "S:\TVSchedule\Schedule.txt" was doing it every 10 minutes.  I would think maybe twice a day would be good enough.  Every 10 minutes seems excessive.

And finally,  I hesitate to even mention this because it seems silly to complain about a Beta feature inside an Alpha.  Previously (prior to Alpha 33) I had no trouble with the TVDB Accuracy Check.  I love that feature because it brings the system up-to-date so fast compared to a Force Refresh.  Now, the Accuracy Check locks up TV Rename completely after the log has gone on for awhile.  Checking the Task Manager reveals no CPU activity for the program and the memory size doesn't change indicating a memory leak or something.  Same for the many CefSharp files that are listed now.  The TMDB Accuracy Check doesn't lock up but then again, it doesn't deal with as many shows or movies.  Unfortunately I gave up on the Accuracy Check awhile ago after many lockups and so it would be a chore at this point to find a log listing for it.  What I do remember about the log is that it looked perfectly normal like previous Checks that worked with prior versions but that it just stopped, with no errors or any other indication of what happened.  If you want I will run the Accuracy Check again now and send you the log but I don't really think it would be of much help.  I did learn that prior to running the Accuracy Check I needed to do a Save otherwise anything that was changed before the lockup would be lost.  I'm thinking of adding a scheduled Save for TV Rename every hour or so just to be on the safe side.  I just need to go back through the messages here to find out the commandline option for it because I know it's not in the manual yet.

Yeah - boardwalk empire should not use this setting. Generally this setting should be the exception rather than the norm. Looks like it is going a little crazy in this case.  once the first move has been completed all subsequent scans should be ok. 

I have reduced the frequency for the saving in the next version

The TVDB accuracy check does not lock for me. Could be that it's waiting for the system to update from TVDB. TVDB Updates are down at the moment. https://github.com/thetvdb/v4-api/issues/40

I have added logging so you should be able to see more about what it's doing.

I removed that setting from Boardwalk and all the other shows. So I should be good now.

Glad to hear about the frequency change.

I'm not using TVDB v4 yet so I don't think that was the problem.  Looking forward to the next update to see if it just happens to fix my problem but if not at least I'll have more logging to help figure it out.

It sounds like you are describing what happens to me.  Funny thing, the last time I ran it the Accuracy Check completed successfully.  It went all through all of the shows and the log showed that the .XML files were saved.  A few minutes later I had to look something up in TVRename and it was locked up solid.  I'm looking forward to the extra logging notation so I can get a grip on what's going on.  In the meantime I'm staying away from the Accuracy Check.

Seems like it tends to freeze up at the end after line "10:08:03 INFO Saving Cache to: C:\Users\Steven\AppData\Roaming\TVRename\TVRename\2.1\TMDB.xml".  Sometimes after restarting TVR, it says the configuration files are corrupt and have to select a different dated backup one.

I've stayed away from the Accuracy Check for a while.  Glutton for punishment I just tried it again.  No good.  It locks up at the end but I'm not seeing what you are seeing. The working part of the log starts like this:
