Hi,

I had to reinstall TV rename on a fresh install of Windows, and the
software will no longer find any tv shows to move them to my library.

It finds the TV shows already in my library, but not the ones in my search
folder. The search folder is defined in the options but it won't find it.
It exists in the list of shows, but it can't see to find the last season.

"Missing check" is enabled in search. I'm not certain of any other settings that I should watch for...

Specific show: Star Wars the Bad Batch.

Version 5.0.8, Windows 11, English

You really didn't give us a lot to work with.  Could you elaborate, please?

Sorry.  I thought I'll try to make it clearer.

In my previous installation, TV Rename was working as it should: detecting new TV shows and episodes as they were found in my search folder and moving them into the library folder.  Occasionally, I would manually add a tv show with a TV maze code and then TV Rename would identify the episodes in my search folder, rename them and move them to my library folder on my network.  All as it should.  Great software.

Now, fresh install of Windows 11.  Copied my old settings, but my user name changed so I had to reset the search folders in the settings.

I see that my search folder is there: C:\downloads.  My show has been added from my previous settings, in that case, Star Wars The Bad Batch.  I can see season 1 and season 2 in the "TV Show" section.  But season 3 remains undetected.  I have 4 episodes in the search folder.  I try full scan (recent scan first, then full), but the episodes I have are not detected, not renamed nor moved to my library folder.  It's like there is nothing in my 'Search' folder.  TV Rename finds missing files for my old tv shows, but can not seem to rename and move my new tv shows.

It's been a while, but I remember the first time I used TV Rename, and it seems like I just set up my folders and performed a scan, then my files were renamed and moved to the appropriate location on my server.

I have not tried with another show, though, just this one.  I'll try another one and see if I have more success.

Well, I've made some more tests, and it seems limited to the Bad Batch.  Other shows seems to be working.  But the Bad Batch is unrecognized.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I had some computer problems.  All is well again.

Give me the full names of the Bad Batch files you have in your Search folder.  You said you have 4 of them.

Hi,

I solved my problem by changing the source in preferences.
Default TV Show Source: The TVDB
(instead of TV Maze).

And it worked, it found the files, renamed them and moved them to its right place.
I don't know why though, the show exists on TV Maze.

I've erased most of them, but one was:
Star.Wars.the.Bad.Batch.S03E05.HDR.2160p.WEB.H265-RVKD[TGx]

All of season 3 is there on TV Maze:
https://www.tvmaze.com/seasons/150785/star-wars-the-bad-batch-season-3/episodes

My other shows were recognized from TV Maze, but not this one.

That was the first thing I noticed.  I said to myself, "Why is he using TV Maze?"  TV Maze is the worst of all three of them.  But then I started thinking that the naming of the files didn't match the default naming because there is a hyphen in there and the aliases don't have it either.  I added the series for testing purposes, and it looks like with TVDB it would like the name to be Star Wars- The Bad Batch, replacing the hyphen with a dash.  Anyway, you got it working and that's all that counts.
