Okay, this is a dupe of the other message, and the easiest fix is to install the .NET 6.0 SDK.

Open an admin PowerShell and run:

winget install Microsoft.DotNet.SDK.6

And then 4.7.2 and later will launch

Or if you like a good old-fashioned download,  you can go here - .NET 6   Just choose your processor type.
Latest version 6 is 6.0.407.  You should have received that with the latest Patch Tuesday update, if you don't block updates.

For me it wouldn't work with the latest runtime (6.0.15) but it worked with the SDK (6.0.407).
Is there a reason we need the SDK instead of the runtime?

As written on the webpage that I listed above, the SDK contains all 3 runtimes -
NET Runtime 6.0.15
ASP.NET Core Runtime 6.0.15
NET Desktop Runtime 6.0.15

Did you install just 1 of the runtimes?  I'm not totally sure of which runtimes TVRename needs but it doesn't sound like the one you did was the right one or enough if it needs all three (or two of them).

Thanks Tom.  I just installed the Desktop Runtime at first and not all three.  All's well now.  Cheers.

Installing the SDK with  winget install Microsoft.DotNet.SDK.6 Fixed it for me as well. The error message leads you to a download that does NOT install enough. Thanks, everyone.

I am certainly not an expert in .NET and so I don't know if it makes a difference but I now see that Sparky recommends using .NET SDK 7 for use with TVR.  Please refer to this resolved issue conversation from last week - https://github.com/TV-Rename/tvrename/issues/950
