I am trying to organize my library, and this has done a tremendous job with TV shows.

I am trying to now tackle movies, and I previously have put all my movies into a single folder, but am trying to move to a single movie per folder approach to help keep all the NFOs, trailers, posters, etc. a bit more organized.

I bulk added all the movies in and tagged them all correctly which was a chore, but now I'm trying to move them to individual folders and I assumed this would go and create them.  After going into the folder option for a few and checking "single movie per folder", "automatic folders", and "subdirectories (default)" and doing scan movies again, I don't see it triggering / doing anything.

Can this be done?  Or do I have to manually go and create all the folders first and then re-import them all back in?  Really hoping not to have to do the latter.

Option 1
Under options>preferences set the default movie settings to be 'Single Movie Per folder'
Then use Settigns Check to bulk review your settings. One of the sections will be about the discrepancy between the movie's configuration and the defaults. You can multi-select those that you want to fix,  right click, and bulk fix the issues.

Option 2 (not preferred)
Manually change the XML settings file using search and replace

Option 3
  • Under options>preferences set the default movie settings to be 'Single Movie Per folder'
  • Move the Source Movie files out of your library folders into a temp directory
  • Remove these movies from your library
  • Use 'Scan Movie Folder...', select the folder they have temporarily put into.
  • TV Rename will then search for each movie and copy them back into the sorted place for the movie

Hope that helps
