I have a folder that is in folders by series, but the episodes are numbered as their absolute number rather than S0YE0Z. Is there a way to convert them to that format?

That's a wonderful question. Unfortunately, I can't immediately recall a method for TVRename to accomplish that. It might be possible, but I've never run into a situation where I had to do that. Could you please give me an example series and a few of the absolute numbers from it so that I can play around with TVRename's options and see if I can come up with something? By the way, which database are you using? TVDB, TMDB, or TVMaze?

The series in question was Bleach 2004 (https://thetvdb.com/series/bleach#seasons).

They are labeled with their absolute episode number so S01E01 is labeled 001, S01E02 is 002, S02E01 is labelled 21 etc.

I'm using TVDB.

I ended up doing it using a different program (rename my tv series), but if you can let me know how to do it in future it would be great.

I wasn't able to get TVR to do it.  I don't believe the {Abs} or {Absolute} was ever implemented in the naming tags that's typical for anime shows using links like https://thetvdb.com/series/bleach#seasons-absolute. DVD Order was the closest thing I found that would put sequential ordering under a single season 1 but seems to use https://thetvdb.com/series/bleach/seasons/dvd/# which looks incomplete. There is an alternate order option, but as far as I can tell TVR didn't parse anything using this for this particular show.

I personally just used the air order from tvdb and that was just fine tho depending where your getting your "legally sourced" files you may need to do some manual work such as putting them in season folders and at the very least adding the S0XE0X format yourself so TV Rename can know what it is. I personally am using Bulk Renamer Utility this will make that faster for you so TV rename can handle the rest

The only thing I can think of is changing it manually. That's a lot of work, but TVDB helps you along a little. If you click on an absolute episode listing, it will also show you the Aired and DVD episode listing at the top of the screen, such as this...

I'm not certain because I only used it for a little while, but I think FileBot has an option to convert Absolute to Aired with TVDB. I know others disagree with me (and that's alright), but I found that FileBot was very complicated to use.
