Hi,
i would suggest to change the view.xml files which are created for the Mede8er players.
The current one leads to a strange display.
It would also be better to have different content for the files in the series or season folders.
I have attached the modified ActionMede8erViewXML class with the changes.

Cheers
Jürgen

Thanks Jurgen,

I'll let the community have a look for a while at the proposed change and then incorporate it. Would you like your own branch to contribute code too?

Hi eentje,
you are right. The player creates the file, but TVRename creates the file too if it does not exist (it does not overwrite existing settings).
But the file created by TVRename leads to a display where the player shows the movies and the thumbnails, so you have two entries per episode.
My suggestion is TVRename should create a more usable file as default if it does not exist. So they are like the files the scraper on the Mede8er has created.
It does not restrict you or change your settings in any way, just create a better default.

@Mark
I think at the moment an extra branch is not necessary. Maybe later.

Cheers
Jürgen

Jürgen, I'm looking at improving Mede8er support in TV Rename. Have you tried a new version which includes your code?

Would you or anyone else be avalible to test updated Mede8er support?

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,
i am using the current version 2.3.2 and it is working fine.
I read your comment on github.
The view.xml is needed by the player. If it does not exist, the player will create a new one. The code i posted above is just to create a good default depending on the usersettings.
About the image size requirements i do not know very much. I am not using the feature of tvrename "Shrink large series and episode images to 156x232 pixels" so the images are much larger, but are displayed correctly (and better quality). Maybe this is an relic of older firmwares.
If i can help you with more information, just let me know.

Cheers
Jürgen

I'm using a Mede8er MED500X which is an oldy. ;-)

When I'm not having the series and episode images resized to 156 x 232 pixels, than those images will not be displayed inside the TV Wall.
If you're not having this issue then it is most likely only to generate an issue on the older types of Mede8er.

Thank you both very much for the input.

Looks like we need to keep the resizing, but can maybe have it disabled by default.
