"inside the NFL," the weekly showcase of NFL Films highlights, commentary and features that began on HBO in 1977, ran there for 31 years, moved to Showtime in 2008 for another 13 years and has been on Paramount+ for the last two years, will move to The CW, its first OTA network, on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET starting Sept. 5--a schedule shift will be announced later:

When the show started, NFL Films was the sole producer, although when HBO put together a sports department for its boxing and Wimbledon coverage, it took over production of the non-highlights segments.  With the move to SHO, CBS Sports took over production, although the show moved from HBO's studios in NY to NFL Films' HQ in NJ.  No indication who will be producing for CDub and if current hosts James Brown, Phil Simms, Brandon Marshall, and Ray Lewis will continue (although it's safe to say that Scott Graham will continue to narrate the highlights packages, the only other person to do that besides the late Harry Kalas).

The CW has also picked up the first three seasons of the crowdfunded Biblical epic "The Chosen," and plan to air it Sunday nights from July through December ...

The show's creator is planning seven seasons of "The Chosen," and is currently filming Season 4.

The Chosen is available to stream for free without commercials. Why would the CW buy the rights to rebroadcast something that can be watched and rewatched for free elsewhere? I mean, the Chosen app is bad, but it’s not that bad.

And here is the first comment on CW programming today that isn't demanding the reason why "Superman and Lois" and "Gotham Knights" haven't been renewed. Do GenZers read anything other than social media?

The CW continues its sports influx by partnering with NASCAR to air all Xfinity Series races for seven years beginning in 2025 ...

For non-race fans, the Xfinity Series is basically the equivalent to the Triple-A level in baseball, though drivers in the Cup Series (top level) compete in Xfinity races from time to time.

James: And, often, create enough havoc to win, which only results in prize money, because prior to each season each applicant to compete, must name the primary series (Cup, xfinity, or the again-Craftsman Tools-sponsored truck series) they will race in (generally by the majority of races entered)
The other shoe here is whom Nexstar pillages from other companies to present the races... or if a whole new set of faces are recruited, to reflect the series' alleged younger demo...

C-Dub announces it's been leased by NBC Sports to show the final eight races this season...
Only seven events in three rounds make up the playoffs in the XS (vs 10 / 4 in Cup), so this deal will include the last "regular season" race, at Bristol the night before the big guys contest the finale of their opening round...
