CNBC cut off its peacock

As it did when the network name first launched, CNBC again stands for Consumer News and Business Channel. Any similarities between it and NBC are now purely coincidental. 

Of course, Tom Snyder was fond of saying CNBC stood for Celebrities Nothing But Celebrities.

What I saw said that Sheinelle Jones is joining Jenna Bush Hager, not replacing her. Jenna has had a series of rotating cohosts since Hoda Kotb left and now they're filling the seat permanently.

For non-Today Show watchers:  (I've watched the show almost all of my life, starting with my father being a big fan of Barbara Walters.)

Sheinelle Jones was gone from The Today Show for months.  I didn't know why, but learned that her husband and father of her three children, who she met at Northwestern, had cancer and died during that period.

She was recently welcomed back and even more recently got the 4th hour co-hosting gig.
