Now that WBD has pivoted to helping populate the satcaster/streamer's new package, which will include more channels - and of course, cost more - than the joint venture with Fox and ESPN... this is ostensibly the first of those "genre-based" offerings DTV agreed to as part of its recent deal with D!sney... and no, CBS/Paramount is still not involved...

I ran the numbers on this (since all I watch on Live TV is sports and MSNBC). I currently have Hulu with Live TV at $95.99. If I went back to Hulu Ad Free, that'd be $18.99, for a difference of $77. DirecTV MySports regular price is $69.99, plus Paramount Plus (to get CBS) is $7.99, for a total of $77.98, a whopping 98 cents extra. I know DirecTV is usually pricey enough as is (I switched from them to Hulu to save some cash), but they'll have to do better to drum up the business.

I suspect that with the entrance of pure streamers into the sports arena, the idea of being able to bundle a bunch of channels to give consumers "all the sport" is basically impossible. As it stands, the DirectTV offering excludes CBS/Paramount+, but also all the remaining regional sports networks. Then add in whatever sports Netflix picks up on a regular basis - and after its success with the NFL Christmas games, it's bound to. In much of the world, Netflix is now home for *all* WWE, not just RAW. They're currently heavily promoting the Royal Rumble on Netflix UK, which is not PPV here. Amazon obviously has Thursday Night NFL, and in parts of Europe, including the UK, a first pick of a Tuesday UEFA Champions' League game. Apple has MLS.

It seems unlikely that one group can package all of these up in a way that makes much more sense than subscribing separately to a bunch of services.
