Hi,

When I tuned in the DC affiliate to watch Stephen tonight, the anchor indicated we would join him in progress.  We ended up missing very little, the cold open plus half of the credit sequence.  Easily picked up tomorrow.

I'm assuming that the ACM Awards ran a little over.  It did strike me as weird that the local affiliate would join in progress when tonight's Late Show was new.  Did anyone else in the Eastern and Central time zones have this happen?  I'm kind of thinking the local affiliate called an audible, missed a switch or something.

Tampa got the full show, including cold open, at the regularly-scheduled time.  I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

Oops, sorry, make that Full show in NYC that started late, after the full local news.

Same in Chicago.  Sounds like WUSA was using the overrun as an excuse to run over.

This. CBS has a long-standing policy under which if live primetime programming runs long on a weeknight, Colbert and British Jimmy slip and affiliates are given their full 35 minute news window (and usually a little extra to round up to the nearest minute). The timings they sent last night do indeed show a revised start time for Colbert of 11:37:00.

Thanks everyone.  I suspected this was a local thing.  It's extra annoying since the local affiliate usually has a long commercial break in the news right before the transition to the Late Show.
