Said Joe Flint at WSJ, hearing from sources... a consultant tells him it
would not hurt Peacock, from which plenty of its content would be...
they're likely preparing for the distinct possibility that after Versant
swipes all those channels like USA, they wouldn't have enough bandwidth to
carry wide-ranging stuff such as NASCAR and the Olympics...

In other words, NBC committed to the Olympics, but on reflection can’t see
how to actually profit from it

He produced songs for “The Electric Company”, but he was an accomplished
musical satirist (or satirical musician) who heavily influenced my
childhood sense of humor. I cannot praise him enough.

Apropos of nothing, both the BBC and NYT obits for Lehrer misspell Weird Al Yankovic's name.  They manage to misspell it differently from each other, so there's that.

Apparently Al asked the *Times* to remove his name. He likely wouldn't
bother to contact the Beeb... B

The Comic-Con presentation was marred by a cosplay featuring the guy who
plays the Acme lawyer... but more importantly, star Will Forte announced
the flick's release date as 8/28/26:

The live action-animated made-for-Max feature about Wile E. Coyote suing
the Acme Corp. for all of those malfunctioning devices he used to try to
catch the Road Runner that Daddy Zaslav's Warners Discovery tried to bury
has been picked up by Ketchup Entertainment, the indie distrib who also
picked up "The Day the Earth Blew Up," the made-for-Max first full-length
animated feature starring Looney Tunes characters (Daffy and Porky, to be
exact) to decent if not spectacular box office--no release date yet:

YAC about Burbank, Mark... second place to change its name to just "The
Burbank Studios," which also happened to the old First National Pictures
lot, made famous by Warners, a few blocks away on Olive Avenue, for most of
the 70s and 80s... back in June this Nellie piece had only B&B, not Y&R,
moving to Sunset Las Palmas Studios, which is near Santa Monica Blvd, not
Sunset:

...so run the "Days of Our Lives," as the long-running soap picks up a
two-year renewal from NBCU's streamer Peacock. which when it runs out in
2028 will mark five years on the streamer and 63 years total:

I believe that it is the last show still taping at the former NBC studios
in Burbank, and may be preparing to move elsewhere, along with its related
shows "The Young and the Restless" (also produced by Sony) and "The Bold
and the Beautiful" (created by long-time "Days" head wrier William Bell,
who also created "Y&R," and still owned by his family), which are planning
to vacate TV City soon.

The move of Local 10 WPLG to the WSVN subchannel comes tomorrow (7/28), so
the change on 8/4 doesn't drive folks completely mad.

Mark Jeffries, June 4th:

Something of note: In MIami, WPLG, the ABC affiliate for 67 years, is
dropping the net in August, saying that they think that they can be
successful with a heavy schedule of local news and wanting their
programming to be exclusive to the station (the Oscars streaming this year
was supposedly the last straw). Two of WPLG's three daily syndicated shows
are--"Jeopardy!" and "Wheel." ("LIve!" is the other one.) I wonder if
they'll now try to get out of the contract with (for now) CBS Media
Ventures if the shows are going to start next-day streaming.

For the record, ABC is moving to the .2 subchannel of Fox affil WSVN,
infamous for their tabloid-style newscasts which may not sync with "GMA"
and David Muir.
