Specifically, drag queens supposedly recreating the Last Supper during the Olympic opening ceremony. Spoiler: they were actually recreating a Greek bachanal (party). 

The severed head didn’t bother them, though.

As a Christian, I’ve always considered it disrespectful that the Last Supper portrayed Jesus & pals as white, when that is demonstrably false. So the drag queen party didn’t even register to me. 

About 15 years ago, the Chuck Jones gallery in San Diego received death threats from supposed Christians when they displayed a version of the Last Supper featuring Bugs as Jesus as well as other cartoon characters. The artwork was done by a known Christian artist who explained his intention quite admirably.
