Is this on purpose or just plain stupid?

During a commercial break on my local CW station, I saw a commercial
for an upcoming TV show ("Hellcats") and a movie ("Easy A") that both
used the same clip of the same song ("My First Kiss" by 3OH!3) and
different clips of the same actress (Alyson Michalka).

Am I paying way too much attention? I know that these things are
edited way in advance, but why not at least dub in a different song
for the commercials? They almost cancel each other out.

How about this one: Monday night, during "The Closer" on TNT (9 ET),
an ad ran for "Hoarders" on A&E (9 ET). Did they think we'd bail on
Brenda Leigh and switch over?

  This was most likely your cable system filling an unsold local break. Happens

all the time on systems that sell local avails. I've even noticed it occasionally on

DirecTV. The cues for local insertion come down and they've got to run something

there. And if there's nothing sold, a random cable fills the slot just as well.

....and at risk to my gender and my state of mind, I watched the premiere of the show, which was as bad as I expected it would be. Shortly thereafter, I lost electrical power for three hours. I do not think it was coincidental.
