Played Doug Williams, aka Hope’s dad, for over 50 years on Days of Our Lives. He and his wife Susan were as delightful off screen as they were on screen. When I was an NBC page, he and a few others set the tone of professionalism to be followed by the rest of the (younger) cast: keep it light, but do it right. He was 98.

And don't forget his singing career prior to going into acting... by s--t luck his version of the "Davy Crockett" theme, not owned by D!sney but likely now still owned by Andy Williams' estate, beat all others to #1 on the music charts... "Days" would optimally exploit it at "Doug's Place"...
