The 12th season of the original version of the talent contest format was suspended by RTL in the Netherlands after two episodes when a report by a program on Dutch public TV accused the show's musical director for sexual relationships with contestants (he said it was years ago but he has resigned from the show) and a panelist has been accused of "sexually transgressive behavior" (he claims innocence):
Said musical director has also had a long-term relationship with the sister of "The Voice" creator John DeMol (who is not directly involved with the format, having sold it to the UK's ITV in 2015)--Linda DeMol is a popular TV personality in the Netherlands, her credits including the original version of "Deal or No Deal," another format once owned by her brother.
