I mean, seriously, the same hosts (e.g. G_dd@mned f___ing Dan Abrams), content, format? Who really owns the IP here? Network or production company?

Given that the producers ripped themselves off, I imagine that it was pretty clear that A+E owns everything about the original Live PD and the question is whether what they own is specific enough to be enforceable and also general enough that On Patrol Live is infringement.

I can't remember the last reality series out of any A+E-owned net that didn't have their name, only, on the copyright. Slam dunk case.     B

But Late Night with Letterman was essentially able to transition to the Late Show and Dave got the rights.

For the record, "Judge Mathis" is still in production at WMAQ's studios in Chicago (although its Chicago home has always been CW affil WCIU) and starts its 24th season on Monday.
