CBS picks up "The World's Best," from the pair's respective firms MGM and WB, inviting "acts from every genre imaginable, from every corner of the planet" who(m) "not only have to impress American judges, but will also need to break through the `wall of the world,' featuring 50 of the world’s most accomplished experts from every field of entertainment."

Sir Tom would have used Tele-gebra to call this "Idol X 1 vs 100," I b'lieve...
