The best ratings performance for the show in over five years, since the Jan. 10, 2021 broadcast with Nancy Pelosi and the Georgia guy who Trump begged to fake the count to make him the winner (and you: know what happened a few days previous) (apology if you hate Axios' "Smart Brevity" style):

If I want to listen to a petulant child lie to me, I’ll ask my students why they didn’t turn in their homework. 

There is nothing he could say that I’d have the slightest interest in hearing. I suspect viewers tuned in to see if CBS had truly fallen to the administration’s propaganda machine, and I’m sure without even watching it that they have.

That is unfair to petulant, lying children children, who are at least developmentally appropriate. I have watched every inauguration address and state of the union address acceptance speech by the wedding president and an election since literally 1968, except Donald Trump. I read the transcript of Both of his inauguration addresses and I read extended excerpts of his state of the union addresses, but I can’t stomach listening to him talk for anything longer than a sound bite. The only thing that would get me to watch a 60 Minutes interview with him, as if at the end of it, he announced he was resigning and turning himself into the US marshal for remand to prison.
