Once we got to Richard Simmons DreamMaker, I basically gave up on daytime talk.
In the age of streaming content, I fail to see the appeal of poorly produced, low quality content, not just for daytime or housewives but for any demographic at any time of day. I suppose if you just need background chatter while doing chores, the content is largely irrelevant, but my point is I’d rather have good, quality irrelevant compared to low-brow, pandering irrelevant.
Teaching again, I’m constantly searching for engaging videos to accompany my lessons. History Channel, NatGeo, Discovery and Smithsonian ought to be reliable, but not only is much of their content poorly produced, but much of it is blatantly factually inaccurate. The biggest crime is in spite of the inaccuracies, it still isn’t entertaining on any level. And I can’t figure out who needs this garbage.
