Ellen is signed through 2020 so it's not like she's quitting at the end of the year. She's 60 and she's been doing the show for 15 years already. I can't say I'd blame her for wanting to step away.

Ellen is signed through 2020 so it's not like she's quitting at the end of the year. She's 60 and she's been doing the show for 15 years already. I can't say I'd blame her for wanting to step away.

“[From] the beginning I said this show was going to be like a relationship,” she said on Tuesday's (5/21) show. “We’ve been through the good, the bad, the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ phase. It’s been a lot of fun and 16 years is a pretty good run. Sometimes in a relationship, you need to take a break. But I don’t. You’re stuck with me. I just signed for three more years.”
