Semi-OT: famous Columbo filming location

Last Thursday, I had the good fortune to be able to journey to the Hollywood Hills to visit the Stahl House, aka Case Study House #22. While it is an undeniably beautiful example of mid century modern design, it was also the location of the climactic scene in the first installment of Columbo, aka Prescription: Murder. The home has appeared in many other TV shows and films as well, including GalaxyQuest.

If I were to win the lottery, I would buy it, even though as a house it is practically unlivable. But as a place to just exist detached from all the world’s (and my own personal) problems, it might not have an equal.
