The prolific composer/conductor stacked up popular TV and film themes from the 1960s through the 1980s, after starting as a musician studying under Fox great (and fellow New Haven CT native) Alfred Newman... a whole channel of his work is on Youtube (link)... at his New Mexico home; 86.

I had a John Wayne western binge this week. Frontiere’s work on Chism makes the movie almost unwatchable and incredibly dated. But Matt Houston and Vega$ both had great themes, so all is forgiven. RIP

(Even though the credits sequence is a compendium of bad '80s action cliches - watch it, and you'll understand why the show only lasted a year.)
