I think there is still pending litigation from the original incarnation of the series 

It’s a horrible idea and it was horribly executed. Families “gifted” the home makeovers lost everything. Residents of Neighborhoods who endured the non-stop destruction (I can’t call it construction) were denied access to their own streets and forcibly removed from their own property so the cameras wouldn’t capture the actual reactions from neighbors.
