I watch the show, and I enjoy the show, but it is frequently borderline farce instead of drama. You have to stretch credulity to its very limit to believe that running a horse ranch is a life-or-death affair filled with secrets, betrayal, and intrigue. Mostly, one assumes, one’s days are spent picking up horse poop.
In terms of political leanings, it’s natural to draw the conclusion that a family of wealthy white (mostly) men living in the flyover states are going to swing conservative, but again it would be silly to consider it sympathetic to the GOP when the family is frequently involved in murder or violent assault.
It’s another of those shows where there really aren’t any sympathetic characters; I wouldn’t want to share a drink with any of them. If there are viewers watching it thinking these are people to aspire to, well, I suppose that’s how we ended up with people like Trump and DeSantis. But there’s nothing righteous or moral in the family.
