Brilliant in several Paul Thomas Anderson films (Hard Eight a particular standout), dead at 90.

I recently was pushed a clip of a Jerry Seinfeld answering the question: “Which actor made you laugh the hardest during a scene?” With Hall playing the Library detective investigating Jerry for not returning “Tropic of Cancer” when he was in high school.

I believe he played Richard Nixon many years ago in a one-man show that Robert Altman filmed/taped at the U of M in Ann Arbor. I've never seen it, but that always sounded to me like an intriguing combination of actor and subject.

Agreed that Hard Eight is worth finding ... and that Lt. Bookman was one of the (many) standouts on Seinfeld.
