The variety series (read late-night talk) writing Emmy has been moved from the main telecast to the Creative Arts ceremonies on Sept. 5, which, as it is a two-night total point affair (thank you, Alex), were presented on FXX in recent years as an edited highlights reel, but seemingly does not have a telecast home yet for this year--the reason for this is the ever-popular attempt to streamline the Emmycast (good luck on that), but since the variety series award that will be handed out is now an area award, meaning that there could be multiple winners...

The writing nominees are Colbert (the gag reel is obvious--the writers' resumes, since they don't have jobs), Oliver (probably the writers presented as characters from the soaps Oliver did cameos on) and Kimmel (my suggestion would've been the writers as candidates for government positions dodging from Democratic Congresspersons the question "Who won the popular vote for President in 2020?").
