Coop's talk show will finish out the season, but there seems to be a glut of syndicated daytime talk shows--and it all seems to indicate that Oprah was a one-in-a-lifetime success that will never happen again:

Then it's a Catch-22 as it took Oprah a few years to find her way and
turn her show into a juggernaut. And now there's a glut of talk shows
so soon after the networks canceled soap operas and they needed to
fill those hours.

A more likely explanation is that they paid out a lot of money to
Cooper and they can't recoup their investment. So unless there are
cheaper shows out there they will look for cheap and unknown talk show
hosts.
