Keeping "60" relevant

Sigh.

Beyond the Quibi version, the idea that 60 Minutes should concentrate on breaking news is wrong. The stories about stuff that happened in the past week tend to be their worst; their strength has always been a staff and correspondents who are willing and able to dig deep into things. Their reporting on the STOCK Act, which has become relevant in the past week, leaps to mind.

It's telling that in the Variety story Bob linked to, 60 looks at Frontline as competition, not the crap that runs on the other broadcast networks. I hope that's what they continue to aim at.
