The bad news arrived via IG... apparently "Horizon" is not leaving him enough time to work on the latter's remaining episodes...

I’m not sure how long Costner was expected to sit around waiting. The show’s producers had shifted focus to all the other shows they were making to try to capitalize off the success of Yellowstone, ignoring the flagship show in the process. A two year delay to finish a season is unreasonable. Costner was right to move forward.

And, what many have suspected, does happen as the opener of season 5-B drops...

Costner told SiriusXM talker Michael Smerconish, "I didn't know it was actually airing... I swear to God..."

It amuses me that Costner insists he didn’t quit Yellowstone. They didn’t fire him, and after multiple production delays, he started working on his Horizon movies. That feels an awful lot like quitting to me.

They can always bring him back by putting Patrick Duffy in the shower.

Kevin: They can always bring him back by putting Patrick Duffy in the shower.

me: I had this exact same thought.

(unsure if I really wanted to admit I thought like Kevin).
