Kabletown's Sky satellite/streaming service (and Internet/wireless) is spending $2.13B on the 71-year-old British commercial network, its associated channels and its streamers while the ITV Studios division, programme supplier to the network, becomes the entire ITV company--they've acquired Love Productions, the people behind "The Great _____ Bake Off/Baking Show" franchise, joining other global franchises "The Chase," "Love Island" and "The Voice"--it is believed that the recently merged Banijay/All3Media is kicking the tires of ITV Studios (too many global franchises to list):
Of course, if NBCUniversal does spin off of Comcast, Sky will become part of NBCU. If you believe Matt Belloni of Puck, ain't gonna happen--Comcast will sell off its divisions in pieces, so he says.
