Great minds think alike and post the exact same source. I deleted mine, since you were first by seconds.

Right in that article he'd told the network years ago, basically, it's never too soon.     B

Agreed… as epitomized by his telling of The Aristocrats during the Hefner roast, Gilbert knew when to work blue when nobody else would dare. He was not one of my favorite comedians, but he was good at what I did. I admired his style.

He was the host of my favorite podcast - a show I've been listening to obsessively since I discovered it at least five years ago.
Listen to his recent interviews with Michael Feinstein, Frank Ferrante (they did dueling Grouchos), or Richard Benjamin and Paula Prentiss. Or one of his many Christmas episodes with Mario Cantone. His humor was only exceeded only by his in-depth knowledge of old time show biz.

And though I only met him once - for a few seconds in an elevator at the Museum of TV and Radio (he was kind enough to pretend to laugh at a little joke I made) - I will miss him very much.

I stumbled across one of his podcasts on SiriusXM maybe a year ago and found it *much* more interesting than I would have expected. (I wasn't particularly a fan of his, honestly.)

I started downloading episodes with guests who looked interesting, but I hadn't gotten around to actually playing any until a few weeks ago, when I listened to several episodes and confirmed that they were well worth the time. So naturally ...

Anyway, I guess there's a back catalog of 400 or so episodes I can work my way through.
