An alternate reality series set in 1960s America where the USSR was the first to land on the Moon, the result being a very different NASA, both in perception and reality. 

This series actually doesn’t suck.

Yep, I'm a fan of alternate-history stuff, and I'm really enjoying this so far. It's also moving along in time faster than I would have expected (at the end of the fifth episode, it's already late 1973).

Although because I've thought about this kind of thing a lot: I have the nitpicky complaint that as the timeline diverges, pop culture should also diverge, so the further along the series goes, the more incorrect it becomes to have pop songs from "our" timeline on the soundtrack.

The premise is surprisingly well conceived. The moon landing was potentially the most pivotal moments in the history of the world that did not involve a war. Change it and the ripple effect makes for good drama.

Music. Fashion. Everything ought to change as Americans develop an inferiority complex. But not sure how practical it would be to get The Rolling Stones to record a new song though.

I'm reminded of a key moment during the 21st century Battlestar Galactica (another Ronald Moore-run show) where they used "All Along the Watchtower." (a cover sung by someone not known for the song)  I didn't know it was arguably foreshadowing something, but it just seemed so out of place as to throw me out of the episode.

I haven't watched Outlander, another show Ron Moore helps run.  Have they done something similar, given it's, to borrow a completely different show's phrase, a little timey-wimey?

Just watched the second season finale of “For All Mankind.” I won’t give away any plot details, but it was immensely satisfying.

Season three has built upon the characters developed during the first two seasons, and added a few more as they attempt to reach Mars in 1994. I am still enjoying this show. 

Minor spoiler:

They’ve added a sort of Elon Musk character this season as the concept of privatizing space begins decades earlier in their alternate timeline. The story so far is very satisfying, with quite a cliffhanger on this week’s episode. I mean, I literally yelled “Oh come on!” at the screen as they faded to black and started rolling the closing credits.

Really enjoying this season with the alternative history feeling reasonably believable with some smart contemporary parallels to today. Even the occasional Apple product placement is fun.

Quite the cliffhanger in this week’s episode!
