Simon's deal has been suspended (as opposed to severed), and in an interview he gave on Dan LeBatard's podcast that dropped today, he described the action on his development deal as not unusual during a strike action (he indicated he wouldn't go to set during the strike since he didn't see a circumstance where he wouldn't end up touching a script). Most of the interview discusses the strike, television writing, and the general economics Simon has been criticizing now and in past work.
