Jeff Vaughn, an anchor at CBS-owned KCBS and KCAL in LA for eight years, is suing the network and parent Paramount Global, claiming that he was fired from his anchor position at both stations (I don't know why newscasts on KCBS are now branded as "KCAL News," but that's another story) because he's white, male, in his 50s and heterosexual--his attorneys work for MAGAt Stephen Miller, who's also representing that staffer on "Seal Team" who claims that he didn't get a writing position for being a straight white guy (complaint in link):

I assume Kevin can tell us that Vaughn was an incompetent blowhard.

It doesn’t matter how good or bad Vaughn was, this is ideologically motivated lawyers looking to weaken anti-discrimination laws. They’re always looking for clients and Vaughn agreed to be one.

I can tell you the average age of anyone in local news is just above a fetus. An age discrimination lawsuit would’ve been more tenable, but the reality is that the seasoned/experienced on air personalities (I can’t call them journalists) were all either replaced by children willing to work for scale or they had their salaries reduced to scale. Guessing Vaughn wanted to be paid based on his experience. That’s just not done in local news anymore.

I personally don’t recall Vaughn at all, so I can’t state whether he was incompetent or a blowhard, but based on the nature of the lawsuit he’s an a-hole. And he’ll never work in the business again.
