The garage is closed. Or it will stay on YouTube where it belongs.

The thing is, CNBC could show a test pattern from roughly 7 pm to 5 am. What does a financial network show other than for a few hours before, after and during the time  that the market is open?

I'd rather watch Jay talk about cars he enjoys than a lot of the other filler they use. If I had cable, I mean.

Speaking of which, I see that CNBC is trying another 7 pm newscast. I thought they gave up after the Shep Smith attempt, which I seem to recall was respected but evidently didn't draw the ratings CNBC was hoping for. My question is, what makes them think this time will be different?

Other outlets are concurrently reporting Leno was in a motorcycle accident earlier this month, breaking a few bones.

At a minimum, I'd encourage him to take it easy for most of the year after these injuries.  He probably won't.

Back in the 1980s, one of CNBC's predecessors was known as "FNN/Score" - financial news during the day, sports news and talk shows at night and on weekends. (Obviously, they couldn't compete with ESPN, especially with no actual sporting events to broadcast.)

Someday there will be a movie about what happened to FNN, and it will be glorious

Leno’s YouTube channel is as you describe. His CNBC show did not showcase cars, but celebrities who own or drive cars. Celebrities who avoid tough interviews (ie Musk) flocked to the series because it was just fluff… background noise that could be played in a dentist’s office. I enjoy the YouTube channel; the CNBC series was bad.

This show cost about $1.87 per episode to produce. Did they have more than two camera people? I am surprised it got cut because CNBC isn't exactly a ratings juggernaut. I know someone who knows Leno and I will ask what happened.

I’ll throw this in from out in left field: if the CNBC show needs insurance to protect against Leno not being able to work, a policy may now be impossible or too expensive to get. At his age recovery takes a long time and he has had two recent hospitalizations based on his behavior rather than the usual problems of an aging body.
