C.K. won't begin filming a fourth season of his FX show till around this time in '14... unlike, say, Leno, his performing schedule must be a lot more packed.

This show is good - sometimes stunningly good.

Not to me. I've watched it a few times and sat dumbfounded that people think it's either funny or insightful.

De gustibus, once again. More power to him, though.

I don't usually try to persuade people to watch a show they have already sampled and don't like, but I am going to make an exception for this one. It is enough sui generis that it can be off-putting the first few times you see it, and it is not easy to get a context for what you are watching. The first two seasons are on Netflix, and if you did not get a chance to watch a critical mass of them in sequence, I encourage you to devote a couple of hours to giving it another try. If you can't make yourself try them from the beginning, I would at least urge you to watch the two Afghanistan episodes from I think the end of the season 1, if you have not already seen those. I thought Season 3 was even better than the first two, and the arc related to Late Show was both particularly funny and insightful.

I am not sure I would classify Louie as a Sitcom, but there is not a 30 minute television program currently in production that I enjoy watching more (I would put Veep a close second).

De gustibus indeed. I think "Louie" is amazing (granted, not
everything there works, but his success ratio is very high), but I
tired of "Veep" after three episodes, my admiration for Ianucci's
other work notwithstanding. Or perhaps *because* of that admiration --
I just like his other TV and film stuff better.

Meanwhile, I had never even heard of Ianucci until reading your post. Well, I guess that is not true, I must have seen his name on the credits of Veep, and as I search through our archives here I see his name and some of his previous shows mentioned in the posts related to Veep, but never noticed it or if I did it never registered). I have gotten an overview of him from the Wikis, and  I will keep an eye out for his British stuff now. I also had something of an opposite experience with Veep than you - I thought the first couple of episodes were just okay, and then really started liking it the more I watched it.

Perhaps I gave up too soon. Plenty of time to catch up before the next
season begins.
