HIMYM Syndication question

In the NYC metro area, WLNY (CBS O&O independent) is running “How I Met Your Mother”. I just saw a promo for it and all the extras in the bar scenes have their faces blurred. I’ve never seen that before. Did someone forget to sign a check?

What if they only paid them as extras and faced legal repercussions for not paying them as someone integral to the plot?

They were blurred in the promo, but you don't know if they were blurred in the syndicated episode, right? Perhaps it's an advertising issue?

If nobody noticed until now, I daresay they can't be described as "integral to the plot."
