Called Strike Force Five, Kimmel, Fallon, Colbert, Meyers and Oliver will host a 12-episode podcast (with a possibility for more) focusing on the strikes.

I assume “@12:37” [sic] is a no-go until the strike is over – or does it being an improv game show make it exempt? CBS can’t keep running Corden indefinitely.

Although it’s presented as being improv, it does have writers — a lot of the material is written in advance (by the show writers in conjunction with the comedian panelists).

Regarding talk show hosts, I commend to your attention the Joy podcast hosted by Craig Ferguson. His most recent chat with the voice of Geoff Peterson included lots of Late Late Show backstage stories.

I don't think that's the shocker. I've listened to the first 25 minutes and the shocker was Colbert finding out who his mother dated.

After 25 minutes, I feel comfortable saying that Jimmy Fallon is in most need of writers.

Fallon is in most need of writers, timing, talent, charisma, standards, or scruples. He might even lack basic motor skills.

I listened to the first episode. It took them about half an hour to find their rhythm. After Colbert told the story Steve referred to, it became a hook for callback jokes 

and the conversation took off. I thought having 5 hosts (or participants) would get unwieldy, but they’re pros and they figured it out quickly.

The podcast was supposed to be twice a week. Last week, the second episode dropped on Sunday. Still no fourth episode today. Maybe it will drop Monday. Or maybe they’ve paused it because of the Jimmy Fallon allegations.
I’ve been enjoying it. John Oliver, in particular, has had sharp wit.

Jimmy Kimmel was on the Bill Simmons podcast on Monday (recorded Sunday night 9/10/2023), and said that they recorded five episodes before the first one was released. So still one more to drop before the staffer news broke.

I was going to say, #3 contained a reference to something in the news that felt a few weeks old. So yes, they gave themselves a running start.

Will they bring up the article? I think that's up to Fallon himself.

Steve is right: Oliver doesn't say much, but when he does, it's hilarious.

I was surprised that they didn't settle on what to me was an obvious compromise on the sound effect: Use at it only at the beginning and end, and maybe during the sponsor messages.

I'm enjoying this podcast.
