To hear Susan Olsen tell it on a Vanity Fair-based podcast ('toob link at the end), her unconcealed support of Trump and remarks on issues he and the MAGA right keyed on... but the sequel was not just about the "kids" as parents, but would include contemporary aspects like one of the children being trans and one of the parents looking to marry a Black person, which Olsen was not going to tolerate...

Worth noting that Ann B Davis was an extreme right wing fundamentalist conspiracy theorist who sometimes lived in a cult-like colony… but she had no problems acting opposite a gay man. Tells you how far Olsen is beneath that.

For those who can’t be bothered to click through to the article, there were only informal discussions about doing a sequel. There was no script and no distribution deal. Olsen is spouting grievance and entitlement over the idea of a project, not the project itself.

I used to follow her and even exchanged messages with her on socials when she was promoting her animal rescue work (10+ years ago). 

The problem isn’t that she’s a Trump supporter. The problem is that she’s moved into “full on right wing nut job” territory. When the “kids” went on Stephen Colbert’s show to promote their HGTV show a while back it was obvious that she was not happy to be there. 

On Barry and Chris’ podcast it seems like they understand her 50+ year rebellion against the Cindy image (Cindy was portrayed as stupid) but they refer to her like the weird uncle that they have to listen to at Thanksgiving.
