Hat-tip AP and paywalled Status.news: At a staff meeting which also involved new "60" exec Nick Bilton but which Weiss was asked not to attend, Scott protested the firings of the previous showrunner and Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega, and when Bilton defended Weiss saying "she loves '60,'" raged "she's murdering [it]":

Yeah, as Joe posted one minute before I hit send, Pelley was fired 


I don’t follow TV ratings anymore. Is 60 Minutes still a hit series?

Even if 60 Minutes was still a ratings leader it won’t be in the fall. The older audience who watch faithfully feel a connection to the reporters and they’ll tune out if all of the faces are new regardless of the content.
