Given the number of Arrowverse shows, the CW has options. They can promote Black Lightning to fill Supergirl's slot, or front load "Superman & Lois" or "Green Arrow & the Canaries" (assuming the latter is picked up) and run Supergirl in the back half of the season. Although presumably that will cause problems if they've got another giant crossover in mind...

Or, you know, figure out some comic-booky way to write the pregnancy into the show.

Given current storylines (and the current lack of a male character physically capable of...um...never mind), I think a hiatus is the more likely option.
