Although Ryan Seacrest has already begun taping episodes of the syndicated version of "Wheel of Fortune" for the fall, his predecessor Pat Sajak has agreed to one more season of ABC's prime time "Celebrity Wheel," to premiere on Oct. 7 and initially to air on Monday nights when Monday Night Football won't be simulcast with ESPN:

They once mentioned on the Inside Jeopardy podcast that they often shoot Celebrity Jeopardy on weekends when their contestants aren't working. Assuming Wheel does the same, maybe Seacrest is busy at one of his other jobs when Celeb Wheel tapes?

What Seacrest is expected to do is laid out in detail in his contract. If the producers of Wheel especially wanted him to host the celebrity version they would have written it in the contract. If it’s not in the contract the producers are free to hire whoever they want and Seacrest is free to tell them he doesn’t want to host it.

Since the crew are familiar with Sajak it makes the most sense to bring him back for the celebrity version.

We don't know what day of the week AT40 (and the "On Air" elements) are done...     B

Since "On Air" is built on Seacrest's morning show on KIIS-FM in LA, I would assume that a lot of it is recorded as he does it live in the morning, and then it usually airs in syndication in midday.

"AT40" I don't know. He may be doing it live to tape (which Casey did initially and then they discovered that if he blew a line or if his temper went off, they would have to re-record the segment from the top and it took much longer than three hours), but I guess the gossip segments (that Casey didn't do, since he was generally the only voice you heard on his show) are recorded separately during the week.
