And don't forget her infamous cranberry relish recipe every Thanksgiving--on the non-NPR but public radio "Whad'ya Know?", when an audience member told host MIchael Feldman that they had tried that recipe, he asked how it was and the response was "the worst thing I've ever eaten."
I'm guessing that it leaves Scott Simon as the last NPR veteran from the days when their audience was small and intellectual still on the air (I believe Noah Adams is still living, but retired)--in the 90s, NPR suddenly became a ratings player due to a combination of audience splintering in general and a migration of left-of-center talk radio listeners when Rush Limbaugh's success made commercial talk radio all-right all the time.
