"Days of Our Lives" will move to Peacock as of September 12, which means there will no longer be any soap operas airing on NBC.

I'd actually heard a rumor about this happening over a year ago. My source claimed that the plan was to replace it with two game shows: a revival of "Tic Tac Dough" hosted by Tom Bergeron, and a revival of "Concentration" hosted by Damon Wayans. So it's a little bit disappointing that it's going to be replaced by more NBC News programming.

As someone said on the tweetybox, I'd hate to be a receptionist at an NBC affiliate on Sept. 12.

This has been threatened to happen for some time now. I’m not sure how it will affect the show. Peacock has done two limited runs called “Beyond Salem” featuring lots of former cast members reuniting for the Days equivalent of a caper. Mostly it was from the era when I watched the show with my mom. Maybe they noticed an uptick in subscribers for those and thought moving the main soap would lead to more subscribers?

If it’s anything like when OLTL and AMC went to Hulu back in 2013, expect Satan to be a little saltier in his language the next time he possesses Doc….
