Herb Solow, already a veteran of NBC and CBS before being hired by Lucille Ball to revive Desilu, helped guide Gene Roddenberry through pitching TOS to the Peacock, and came up with important elements like star dates and making Spock look less like a devil... moved on to MGM after the Paramount merger, first bringing them back to TV prominence, then to producing movies... 89.
