"As for how he's doing, multiple sources say he's doing great and his doctors have given him the go-ahead to resume filming."

I do not believe that for one second.

I worked in-patient alcohol and drug rehab for years. No doctor who knows what they are doing would make this part of a treatment plan.

On the other hand, if instead we assume that Sheen told his doctors that he was going to resume shooting no matter what, I could see some doctors agreeing to this arrangement as better than nothing. I would not really call these next 4 weeks part of his rehab, more part of a structured monitoring of his status. If they can get him checked in and pee-tested every day at a pre-determined time, they can keep him from spiraling down the drain any further until he is ready to really start some rehab. I can also imagine a number of docs telling him to shit or get off the pot - either his rehab is the only important thing in his life right now, or it is not. If there is something else more important than his rehab, then go do that and contact us when you are serious about rehab.

Of course, I never worked in a facility where a patient could pay the full freight (and then some) out of his own pocket, so I guess that might make a difference...
