A few days late, but all the companies involved with the original are apparently on board with it, but Joss Whedon isn't... Sarah Michelle Gellar would have a recurring role, not be the lead... a pilot is being developed, and Hulu is the destination... never knew that entertainer Dolly Parton was the co-founder of Sandollar (with Sandy Gallin, her manager back then)...

The Buffy sequel is off. 

Ms. Gellar stated as much on her instagram.

I keep seeing conflicting reports - I've seen multiple outlets confirming that Hulu has shelved it, but as recently as this morning I saw something that says they're shopping it around, so... *shrug*
